Looking for a fun way to fulfill a passion for protecting wildlife?

Maybe you have a desire to inspire others. Our dedicated volunteers donate their time, talents, and skills to augment and enhance Zoo staff's work. While experience can be helpful, it isn’t a requirement. We're committed to helping volunteers succeed by providing the tools, resources, and training!

The North Carolina Zoo Society

The North Carolina Zoo Society is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports wildlife conservation, education, animal care and wellness, and guest experience at the North Carolina Zoo.

The Zoo Society’s generous donors and loyal members empower the Zoo to do more than provide world-class animal care. Gifts from the Zoo Society position the North Carolina Zoo to contribute nationally and internationally to wildlife conservation and research, to advance standards and practices that promote the well-being of animals in zoos and the wild, and to inspire people everywhere to respect, explore, care about, and connect with nature.
